GOPRO x GOCHISOYA

I recently picked up a GoPro camera and thought I’d test it out by trying a time lapse video while drinking at a local izakaya (Japanese style pub).

This pub is particularly awesome as it’s all you can drink for 2hrs for like 1000yen ($10-15 depending on the exchange rate).
I’m actually headed back there on the weekend so I might make another one.
Unless my computer goes to shit again I should hopefully have plenty of stuff to post in the near future.

TOUCH IT!

I was in Tokyo yesterday showing some friends from Australia around. We stopped by Akihabara to check out the electronics stores and the maids and freaks etc.

Anyway in the station they had this touch screen vending machine, I just had to try it!
I’m told that they have cameras built into the machine that detects the age and gender of the customer and recommends drinks for them, which is cool on one hand but who wants a vending machine telling them what to drink?

I saw a little girl use it before me and it had an animation of the drink she chose falling through a cloud into the box where the drink lands, but when i ordered my drink nothing happened.

NEW JEANS

A while back I stumbled across some sites online with people raving about selvedged “dry” denim.
For those that don’t know it’s basically woven a different way and the colour isn’t washed out or treated.
So when you buy them they’re a dark blue but with continuous wear the jeans will develop wear/creases/marks etc unique to YOU. I saw some selvedged jeans in Uniqlo recently so I grabbed a pair. After a few weeks there are no signs of wear, but I’ll try to remember to post an update in 6 months or so.
